Lionel
Messi's formal visit to Gabon to lay the foundation for the
construction project of the country's stadium is filled with criticism
concerning his mode of stressing to the event.
Messi and Ali Bongo
Barcelona forward and Argentine star, Lionel Messi has come under
heavy criticisms over his casual dress mode to a national event in Gabon
which was to lay the first stone of the country's Port-Gentil stadium
construction for AFCON 2017.
He was officially invited by the Gabonese leader Ali Bongo.
A statement from the Union du Peuple Gabonais (UPG) party read:
“The messiah of football arrived in Gabon like he were going to
a zoo: dirty, unshaven and his hands in his pockets, looking for
peanuts to throw to them! “When you’re called Lionel Messi and you’re a
multi-billionaire, you don’t have the right to present yourself to
officials of a republic, even a banana one, with your hands in the
pockets of a ripped, tattered pair of shorts.
“Gabon isn’t a zoo. We don’t know what the Argentine came to Gabon for,
but we at least have the right to denounce his negligence and his lack
of respect for standards and principles. We are uneasy with Messi’s
attitude and his attire. Only for these reasons, linked to respect for
the host country, do we condemn the footballer’s indelicateness, to say
the least!”
There is currently no official response from Lionel Messi or his representatives.
President Buhari has stated in a video his decision to give a preferential treatment to Nigerians that voted for him.
President Muhammadu Buhari has made a shocking revelation that he
will not treat Nigerians equally. According to his statement, ethnic
groups that voted for him during the recently concluded presidential
election would be given a preferential treatment.
Read the transcribed statement below:
"(Going by election results), constituencies that gave me 97%
can not in all honesty be treated, on some issues, with constituencies
that gave me 5%. I think these are political realities. While,
certainly there will be justice for everybody but the people who voted,
and made their votes count, they must feel the government has
appreciated the effort they put in putting the government in place. I
think this is really fair."

The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki has described the NNPC as the engine room of corruption in the country.
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Thursday, stated that the
NNPC was the engine room of corruption, lamenting that none of the
perpetrators of illegal deals in the corporation had so far been
apprehended and brought to justice.
Saraki challenged the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress to
assist the Federal Government to fight corruption by encouraging their
members in the oil and gas sector to expose those behind subsidy scam in
the country.
The Senate President stated this while addressing the leadership of
the NLC led by its President, Mr. Ayuba Wabba, in his office, asked the
oil and gas workers to reveal the identities of subsidy thieves and
watch whether they would be protected or not.
He said, “I think we need the cooperation of our workers who
know it all. They see it happen and when you look at the anti-corruption
agencies, with all due respect, you will find out that 80 per cent of
some of the cases are cases at the state level.
“You hardly see where people who are the real engine room –
which is the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation – where most of
these corruption cases on oil are, being put on trial.”
Saraki said it was time workers helped the government succeed to decisively tackle corruption through collective efforts.
Saraki also noted that President Buhari had made it clear that his
administration would fight corruption to its logical end, stressing that
the Senate had on its part started the process by engaging the
Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission.
Saraki assured Nigerians that the Senate under his watch would
fight corruption with a view to blocking leakages and create gainful
employment.
He said, “We in the 8th Senate have said there will be zero
tolerance for corruption. Corruption is one issue slowing down
development and some of the problems we are tackling.
“Whether you talk about our refineries not working, you talk of
the issue of fuel subsidy, you talk about the high cost of governance,
everything you talked about comes back to this issue of corruption and I
think it is time for all of us, those of us in the National Assembly,
the Executive and the workers to show serious commitment.
“This should not be a headline-grabbing approach because at the
end of the day, you are workers, when you talk about oil theft, we have
Nigerian workers at the terminals who surely must know when this thing
is going on.
“Everywhere that there is corruption, some workers are there
either participating or observing. We now have a great opportunity to
win the war against corruption because we have a leadership led by
President Muhammadu Buhari that we believe has the political will to do
the right thing”
He said the excuses of Nigerian workers that when they blow the
whistle on corrupt practices nothing would be done because the system is
corrupt right from the top, was No longer tenable because the current
administration in the country has the political will to deal with the
scourge.
Saraki said, “We are assuring you that at the executive side,
we have elected the President that will do it well. I am making the
commitment on behalf of the National Assembly and myself that we are
committed to fighting corruption.”
Wabba lamented the current high cost of governance coupled with the
high exchange rate which according to him was having serious negative
impact on the lives of workers.
Wabba said that the reduction of salaries announced by the
President, the Vice-President and some state governors was not the
solution to the problem of high cost of governance in the country.
The NLC President also called for a more transparent execution of the National Assembly annual budget.
He recalled that the budget for the National Assembly for 2011 was
shrouded in secrecy because the lawmakers used their influence to move
it into the first line charge in the Federation Account.
Nonso
Odo, a 30 year old Nigerian, has been allegedly tortured to death by
police officers in Hillbrow Johannesburg, a prominent South African
city.
New reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reveal that an
Imo-state born Nigerian was tortured to death in South Africa on
Thursday, after engaging in a quarrel with a fellow Nigerian in their
business centre.
This development was said to have irked Mr Ikechukwu Anyene, the
president of Nigeria Union in South Africa, who outrightly condemned the
act.
Mr Emeka Ezinteje, Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian union,
told NAN in Johannesburg, that the union decried the incident after
receiving the report, indicating that the deceased, who was a barber,
quarreled with a fellow Nigerian in their business centre.
“After the quarrel, the fellow Nigerian stopped a police patrol team. The barber ran when he saw the patrol team.”
Ezinteje further informed that the police patrol went after Odo and
returned with the lifeless body of the Nigerian after 30 minutes.
“Not satisfied with the police report, some members of the union went to see the corpse in hospital.”
Further more, reports say that Sgt Nengobeni, a South African
police officer at the hospital, denied that the police killed him,
explaining instead that the police were flagged down by somebody while
the victim took to his heels.
Ezinteje, who refused to believe the reports, said the union suspected foul play and would get to the root of the case.
“We have also received reports by eyewitnesses that Odo was
beaten to death. We have ordered a post mortem to ascertain the cause of
Odo’s death. The union will also take this case to the Independent
Police Investigative Department, for more investigation.
“The department is responsible for investigating wrong doings by police officers,”
he said, adding that the incident has been reported to Nigeria’s
Consulate General in Johannesburg and Hillbrow Police Station, also in
Johannesburg.
South Africa was recently criticised over xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other Africans living in their country.
Yemi
Osinbajo's media aide, Laolu Akande cleared the air saying the press
release which gave rise to the reports had read 'VP' instead of 'VIP'.
After reports have spread round social media and newspapers, the
Presidency has denied reports that the Boko Haram terrorists are
planning to bomb the home of Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.
Osinbajo’s media aide, Laolu Akande stated that the press release which gave rise to the reports had read “VP” instead of “VIP”.
Akande made the clarification via a statement released on Thursday, July 23, 2015.
It reads:
“A press briefing note circulated today by the Secretariat of
the National Economic Council, NEC, contains a typo on the very last
line of the last paragraph.”
“That paragraph should read ‘The Vice President also disclosed
that security reports has it that scavengers are now being prepared by
insurgents to dump refuse laden with bombs in the houses of VIPs.’
“The last line erroneously says ‘in the house of the Vice President.’ Please take note of the correction.”
Osinbajo is said to have made the disclosure during the National
Economic Council (NEC) meeting which also held on July 23 at the
Presidential villa.
Controversy
in Lara, Igbe community, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State after some
Hausa thugs allegedly slaughtered a 33-year-old resident, Shola Olaide,
during an argument.
According to Punch Metro, the Hausa traders in Lara, Igbe
community, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State have reportedly taken to
their heels after slaughtering a 33-year old married man named Shola
Olaide in the course of an altercation.
It happened that the deceased, an indigene of Igboora, Oyo State
and meat seller in Ikorodu went to the shop of an Hausa trader in the
company of his friend, Biggy around 8pm last week Sunday. On getting
there, he met some Hausas gathered at the entrance of the shop. He
allegedly instructed them to give way. This led to a hot argument
between both parties. As tension intensified, the Hausas grabbed him,
took him to the back of the shop and slaughtered him.
Onlookers rushed Olaide to a nearby hospital where he later passed away.
Punch Metro gathered that the action sparked an outrage among
youths of the community who immediately started going round shops and
houses where northerners were staying, threatening to avenge Olaide’s
death. The threatened northerners quietly fled the community the
following morning. The shops belonging to the Hausas in the communities
have been reportedly destroyed by the angry youths.
It was learnt that the matter was reported at the Area N Command, Ijede, while policemen had deposited the corpse in a mortuary.
On Alagemo Street where the deceased lived, a neighbour, Mrs Taiwo
Akanda, said Olaide was planning to visit his sick parents in Oyo State
when he was killed. She said the deceased was a jovial man, and the
Hausa assailants might have misinterpreted him.
She said, “Brother Shola (Olaide) was a meat seller, and he was a
very jovial man. On that Sunday, he left house at about 7.30pm, and told
his wife that he was going to buy an item in Lara.
“When he got to the shop, some Hausa men were hanging around the shop.
So, he asked them to give way. They got angry, and there was an
argument, during which they dragged him away and murdered him.
“Initially, the residents that were around tried to save him.But by the
time they rushed him to a hospital, he had died. His wife sells food,
and theirs used to be a happy family. This is not the first time some
Hausa thugs will attack people in this place. That is why the residents
are angry with them on this incident.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu,
confirmed the incident. He added that investigations were ongoing. The
residents have urged the government to look into the attacks on human
beings perpetrated by the Hausas in the area as the recent incident
wasn't the first time.
A
14 year old boy and his accomplices have been arrested after he led a
gang to rob, rape and burn the body of a 16 year old girl.
A wicked minded 14 year old boy, Raeshawn Rivers, has been arrested
and charged for the brutal rape and murder of a 16 year old girl,
Arnesha Bowers.
Raeshawn reportedly raped her viciously and after the evil act, he set her body on fire, the Maryland Police in USA say.
The boy and two of his accomplices, according to investigators,
have been charged with murder, rape, arson and being gang members, after
the charred body of Bowers was found in a burned house on Sunday.
The other suspects are 23-year-old Adonay Dixon and 20-year-old
John Childs, who were accused of breaking into the girl’s house,
sexually assaulting her, stealing cash and setting her and the house on
fire.
According to the police investigation, after Bowers was sexually
assaulted, her private parts were set on fire in an effort to destroy
evidence.
Rivers told the police that he committed the crime so that he would be able to join the gang.
Policemen in Lagos brutalized a heavily pregnant married woman, stripping her naked in the process.
Chika Elekwachi
The increasing cases of police brutality in the country has officially become a worrying situation.
Three heartless police officers attached to the Satellite Police
Division in Lagos State, have reportedly brutalised an 8 month pregnant
woman, Chika Elekwachi, stripping her naked in the night of Sunday, July
19, which has led to her delivering her baby prematurely.
According the report carried in the Sun Newspaper, Elekwachi was
seriously assaulted before she was dragged to the police station.
After she passed out as a result of the ordeal, the police handed
her over to her family members who rushed her to Safe Hands Hospital,
located at Old Ojo Road, Amuwo-Odofin, where the doctors had to induce
her to put to bed.
Elekwachi who is still coming to terms with her devastating ordeal
in the hands of the officers who are meant to protect her, narrated to
reporters that at about 8pm on the day of the incident, she had left her
two kids at home and was driving to a shop in the area to buy things
for the household.
“I suddenly noticed a bus coming behind me. The bus obstructed
me and one of the occupants came out, pointed a gun at me and shouted
that I should park. He threatened to shoot if I didn’t park.
When I discovered that they were policemen, I tried to explain
to them that I wanted to park my car, so that I could enter the shop.
This incident happened at Pako Bus Stop along Ojo Road where there were
so many tankers and lorries parked indiscriminately.
I begged the one that was putting on a black T-shirt to allow
me to go, as I was pregnant. Then the next thing was, he called me a
prostitute. I was angry and reminded him that I am a married woman with
two kids.
I warned him not to call me a prostitute again. But the
policeman dragged me down from the car, even as passers-by and my friend
who was with me in my car, were begging him to let me go.
While I was screaming for help, saying, ‘I am not a thief,’
they tore my trousers. I was not putting on any underwear, so they
stripped me naked. They were dragging me, saying I must enter their
vehicle, but I refused.
They dragged me on the road, but I insisted that I would go
with them in my car. In the process, my legs and my stomach were
bruised.”
She was eventually bundled into the police vehicle and taken to the station, even in her virtually naked state.
"On getting to the police station, I pleaded with them to allow
me get a cloth from the shop. I was begging them so that I could meet
any woman nearby to give me a wrapper because I was naked.
People around were asking me what happened, and I replied that
the policemen did that to me, even though I’m not a thief. Because, with
the way I was treated, one could mistake me for a thief. I had to bite
one of the policemen on the back.
I then entered one provision store near the station where I met
a woman who gave me a gown. My phone was in my vehicle and I told the
police officers that they should allow me call my people to inform them
that I was at the station, but they refused.
They said I must be put in the cell. I was running around,
trying to get a phone, but no one would give me their phone because they
thought I was a mad woman. They were just looking at me.
I then saw a young girl, and I spoke to her in Igbo, telling
her I was not a thief. She was the one that gave me her phone and I
called my sister, because her number was the one I could easily recall.
I told her what was happening, so she came with her husband
that night and met me at the police station. They were asking me what
happened, but her husband said we had to find those who assaulted me.
So, we went into the police station and met the Divisional
Crime Officer (DCO). He told us to explain what happened, but as I was
talking, I felt dizzy and passed out.”
The state Police Police Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Kenneth
Nwosu, confirmed the incidence, saying the officers that carried out the
assault have been nabbed and are in detention and would be prosecuted
according to the law guiding the force.
HRH Chief C.A.O. Otobotekere of the Gbarain clan of Tombia community in Bayelsa State, has been abducted by unknown gunmen.
*Insert photo is for illustrative purposes only*
According to a report on Channels TV, 90-year old His Royal
Highness, Chief C.A.O. Otobotekere of the Gbarain clan of Tombia
community in Bayelsa State, has been abducted by unknown gunmen.
5 heavily armed gunmen on Thursday stormed the residence of the monarch,
forced him into a car and drove to Amassoma/Tombia bridge. They
reportedly burnt the car, a Toyota Camry vehicle beyond recognition,
took the victim and whisked him away in a waiting speedboat to an
unknown destination.
The incident led to a demonstration and barricading of the major road in
the Tombia community which also serves as the link to other communities
in the clan.
The protesters expressed anger that their clan head, who they described
as the pillar of Tombai community, was kidnapped in such a manner and
this was the fourth kidnap incident that has occurred in their community
within a space of four months.
The youths have called for the immediate release of their community head
as, according to them, his chances of survival in the hands of his
abductors were slim because he suffers from high blood pressure and time
spent without his routine drugs might lead to the loss of his life.
The youths, who said that the kidnappers were wearing Police vests as at
the time of the incident, also alleged that men of the Nigerian Police
delayed in responding to their cry for help.
There were also reports that a stray bullet from the abductors injured a
food vendor and he was receiving treatment at the Niger Delta

John Mikel Obi, has stated that he is willing to remain at Chelsea till the end of his contract in 2017.
Chelsea midfielder and Super Eagles star, John Mikel Obi, in a new
interview with his club's website during their pre-season games in the
United States, has stated that he is willing to remain at Chelsea till
the end of his contract in 2017.
After captain John Terry, Mikel is now the second-longest serving player
at Stamford Bridge, and it is something Jose Mourinho has noted on this
pre-season trip, pointing out the pair are now the only players who
bridge the gap between his trophy-laden first and second spells as
Chelsea manager.
Mourinho knows having a serial winner like Mikel around can only be
beneficial, another reason why any rumours linking Mikel with a move
away from west London can be dismissed.
‘I want to stay and the manager wants me to stay. I’ve got two years [on my contract] here and I’m happy.
I like to be somewhere where I have developed friends and family. It’s
like my family here and every day I come to work it is like coming in to
see my family. I know all the players and all the staff so it’s going
to be a hard place to leave when my contract runs out but let’s see what
happens. I want to see out my two years.’
This is Mikel’s 10th pre-season at Chelsea, since he joined the club in 2006.
How
many times has he goofed in recent times? President Buhari said that
Chibok school girls were abducted by boko haram in their hotel rooms.
watch below.
While speaking to a group of Nigerians at the National institute of
Peace, in Washington D.C, United States, President Buhari, mistakenly
mentioned that the school girls kidnapped last year in Chibok, Borno
state, were abducted from “their hotels” instead of “their hostels”.
Buhari said: "In the face of abduction of innocent school girls from
their hotels, indiscriminate bombings of civilians in markets and
places of worship, our forces have remained largely impotent, because
they do not possess the appropriate weapons and technology which we
could have had."
The President has made several slips in the past, some of which
include calling his own party, All Nigerian People’s Congress, referring
to his vice as, Yemi Osibande instead of Yemi Osinbajo.
Also during his trip to Germany, Nigerian president referred to the
Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel as President Mishelle and called
her country West Germany.
Sani Dangote appears to have run into a major business crisis as Union Bank has taken steps to seize his Dansa Foods Limited.
According to reports, it appears that Sani Dangote, the younger
brother to the world’s richest black person, Aliko Dangote, have run
into a major business crisis as Union Bank has reportedly taken steps to
seize his Dansa Foods Limited.
The inability of Sani to pay back a loan of N4billion he obtained from
the bank 7 years ago, has led to the latest development, following which
the bank appointed Lagos lawyer, Chukwudi Enebeli as Receiver/Manager.
Dansa Foods claims Mr. Enebeli cannot represent Union Bank as he is a
party to the suit. Mr. Enebeli was appointed under the deed of debenture
to take over all the assets of Dansa Foods, which has its registered
office at 1, Dansa Drive, off the Badagry Expressway in Lagos.
The debenture appointing Mr. Enebeli has been filed and registered with
the Corporate Affairs Commission in Abuja, and it claims that the
balance of the loan secured have become payable as Dansa Foods has
failed or neglected to meet its obligations despite the bank’s repeated
demands.
In a subsequent development, the attorney and Union Bank have sued Sani
Dangote and other Directors of the company at the Federal High Court in
Lagos, citing “obstinacy and resistance” to his performance of his
responsibilities as Receiver/Manager.
The directors are Alhaji Abdulkaarim Lawal Kaita and Alhaji Ahmed Shehu
Yakasai. The suit is seeking the following orders of the court:
(1) A declaration that upon the appointment of Mr Chukwudi Enebeli as
Receiver/Manager over Dansa Foods Limited the respondents who are
Directors and shareholders of the company have no power or control over
the company or any of its assets;
(2) A declaration that by virtue of clauses 8 and 9 of the Deed of
Debenture dated 29th of May 2009 in favour of Mr. Chukwudi Enebeli the
Receiver/Manager appointed by Union bank of Nigeria Plc is entitled to
perform all functions specified in the deed of all assets Debenture.
(3) An order directing all creditors of Dansa Foods Limited to pay and
domicile all monies due, incomes, or receivables accruing to or due to
the company into the receivership account opened by the Receiver/Manager
in Union Bank Plc.
(4)A order of the court directing the Receiver/Manager in exercise and
discharge of his function to take such steps as may be necessary and
exercise such powers including the powers to take over and apply in
realization of the company’s debt to Union Bank Plc all monies due to
the company.
(5) An order restraining all the respondents and their agents from
disturbing the Receiver/Manager from exercising. Powers vested in him
whether by himself or his agents.
(6) An order directing all Police Officers of the Federal Republic of
Nigeria or other officers concerned with security and enforcement of
order to with “The Inspector General of Police, Assistant. Inspector
General of Police and other Police officers so instructed by the
Receiver/Manager to assist him in the performance of his duties.
An affidavit sworn to by Mrs. Olorunfunmilola Ayoola, the head of the
Food team of Union bank, averred that the bank granted Dansa Foods
Limited in 2008 the loan amounting to N5,200,000,000.
According to her, it comprised:
(1)Overdraft – N500million
(2)Short term loan for advertisement – N500million
(3)Equipment lease- US$2,500,000 (N300million)
(4)Equipment lease (sale and lease back) – US$2,500,000 (N300milion)
(5)Import Finance – US$30,000,000 (3,600,000,000)
She averred that the loan was disbursed to Dansa Foods company and fully
utilized by the company. The company duly executed a deed of all
assets debenture in favour of Union bank.
Mrs Ayoola averred further that the loans granted to the company are
depositors’ funds and if not recovered through the Receiver/Manager, the
survival of the bank will be jeopardized in view of the amount of the
indebtedness. She consequently urged the court to grant the prayers of
the bank so as to prevent the respondents who are directors and
shareholders of the company from dissipating the assets of the company
and for the effective discharge of the powers of the Receiver/Manager.
In a preliminary objection the respondents urged the court to strike out
the suit on the ground that Mr. Enebeli, being a party in the suit,
lacks the capacity to act as counsel for parties in the suit.
They also contended that the court processes were signed by Mr. Enebeli
as counsel acting for Union bank plc and Dansa Foods Limited in
receivership.
The presiding judge, Mohammed Yunusa, will deliver judgement in the matter on October 19.

The
EFCC has summoned Kingsley Kuku, a former special adviser on Niger
Delta Affairs to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, for questioning.
Kingsley Kuku
According to an exclusive report on Premium Times,
Kingsley Kuku- a former special adviser on Niger Delta Affairs to
ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has been summoned for questioning by the
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
An EFCC reliable source disclosed that Mr. Kuku and two others are
wanted by the anti-graft agency over allegation of embezzlement and
fraudulent diversion of funds running into hundreds of millions of
Naira.
However, the allegations against the former presidential aide are not
immediately available, but there have been concerns that the amnesty
programme of the last administration was fraught with massive
corruption.
The source said that Mr. Kuku has been directed to appear before a team of interrogators at the EFCC office on Tuesday, July 28.
The
leader of MEND, Tompolo says the Saturday July 25th meeting of the
militant group in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state is not in any way meant to
restart hostilities in the Niger Delta.
Government Ekpemupolo a.k.a. Tompolo
The leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta
(MEND), Chief Government Ekpemupolo (aka Tompolo) has played down
rumours concerning his meeting with the ex militants which is scheduled
for Saturday July 25th in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state. According to him, the
meeting is not to forment trouble against the government in the
Niger-Delta area.
His official statement reads:
"I am compelled to clarify issues as they relate to the meeting of
the leadership of ex-agitators under the platform of MEND and other
organisations summoned at my instance. The tension generated by the
meeting is uncalled for, diversionary and mischievous as no evil is
intended in whatever form. The nation would recall that in the build up
to the Amnesty offer of the late president, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’Adua,
there was hesitance on the part of most of Niger Delta agitators until
God in His infinite mercy, granted me wisdom to provide leadership.
The nation will also recall that under the Amnesty programme as
inherited by the immediate past president, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan,
relative peace was enjoyed even as security of lives and property was
enhanced to an appreciable level. Also, oil production increased from
700,000 barrels per day to 2.5million barrels per day. Put simply,
hitherto aggrieved Niger-Delta youths who inadvertently became
agitators, upon the acceptance of the Amnesty offer, refrained from
armed agitation to face normal urban life.
While some of us understand to an extent, the apparent delay in
the continued payment of the monthly stipend to the ex-agitators in
view of the seeming scrutiny of government agencies, including the
Amnesty Office by the current administration, same cannot be said of the
majority of beneficiaries of the Amnesty programme.
To this extent, some of us, particularly myself and other
leaders have been under intense pressure from ex-agitators commanders,
individuals, parents and guardians as well as communities who are
beneficiaries of the Amnesty programme. While a few see the delay in the
payment of their monthly stipends in the light of the need for the
current government to settle in properly, others see the delay as a
template to stop the programme. The expulsion of some students
(home and overseas) by their schools and training institutions
particularly has heightened these fears.
Hence, I thought it wise that a meeting of the collegiate
leadership of the platform under which we operated as agitators could be
convened to appraise the situation and possibly, explore means to douse
the tension that is growing among the disarmed youths whose stipends
(training allowances and tuition fees) have been delayed for months.
This becomes more compelling in view of the fact that as leaders of the
platform that served as midwife to the Amnesty offer, we owe the nation a
duty to play our roles in order to stem a relapse of the relative peace
in the Niger Delta Region.”
The
Supreme Mavin Dynasty boss cited superior arguments from his fans as
reason for backing out from the N5m video game bet with Davido.
Don Jazzy has pulled out of his N5m bet with Davido on a video game contest.
Davido had challenged the Mavin Records boss to a game of FIFA 15,
placing a bet of $10,000 and boasting to thrash the music producer 5-0.
While accepting the challenge, the Mavin boss yesterday, July 23, upped
the stakes by placing a N5m bet on the winner of the contest between the
two of them. Deal agreed, they looked forward to the day of the
challenge.
But it seems that day would never come or it may just come without the
huge sums of money being bandied around involved. Just a pure game of
fun.
According to Don Jazzy, following several messages from concerned fans,
he succumbed to their argument that the money could be put to better
use.
See Don Jazzy's tweet announcing his withdrawal from the bet:

suicide on hearing that YoungMoney rapper, Drake doesn't write his own
lyrics.

in Drake. He got a wind of Drake's inability to write his songs during
the social media altercation between Drake and Nicki Minaj's boyfriend,
Meek Mill. Twitter went agog with teasing memes and jokes which were too
hard for shane to chew.

linking his death to the shocking revelation about Drake. The evidence
included an inscription which read "How could you do this Drake? This was written with Graffiti all over Shane's room.
He also addressed a handnote on his bed to Drake which read:

today. Good bye everyone!"
His close friend has expressed deep shock at his action. His body will be laid to rest tomorrow, Saturday, 25th of July, 2015.
