Oyo State governor has addressed protesting students of Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH) in Ibadan, in a manner many people felt was arrogant, tyrannic and disgraceful.

Governor Abiola Ajimobi was captured on camera speaking in Yoruba to students of Ladoke Akintola University and their colleagues who visited his office during a peaceful protest to demand the reopening of their instituion which has been shutdown for 8 months now.
What followed was a public display of executive arrogance and tyranny. "This isn't the first time a university will be closed for 8 months. If you want violence, I'm ready," Gov. Ajimobi told the protesting Lautech students.
In the video, Gov. Ajimobi was also seen and heard boasting that as the governor of the state, he is a constituted authority and should be respected even if he doesn’t pay salaries of civil servants.
He also ordered the arrest of a student, a development that was rejected by other students. The said student was let go.
