Super Eagles will likely be without the services of Rizespor of Turkey defender, Godfrey Oboabona, when they take on Bosnia-Herzegovina in their second group game on Saturday.
Oboabona landed awkwardly after going for an aerial challenge in the game against Iran.
Futile
He was taken off for treatment, but his attempt to make a return to the match proved futile, as he limped off moments after getting back on.
His likely absence for the Bosnia game was confirmed by sources inside the camp in Brazil, who told Futaa.com on Tuesday:
Damage
- Oboabona will not play the game against Bosnia. The scan on his ankle showed that there is a bit of damage, and doctors are saying he needs to rest for at least one week.
The game against Bosnia is well inside the one week window.
The good news however, is that the former Sunshine Stars skipper will be available for the final group game against Argentina.
