Senator Ndume's Suspension, a Warning That Buhari Can Be Impeached - Nigerians React to Senate's Action

Some Nigerians have applauded the suspension of Senator Ali Ndume, some simply think it's wrong, while some say it's a warning to the presidency indicating that Buhari can be impeached. Here are some of the interesting comments.

We had reported earlier that the Nigerian Senate suspended its former leader, Ali Ndume, who had asked for investigation of allegations of importing a bullet proof Range Rover with fake documents involving Senate President Bukola Saraki and that of perjury involving Dino Melaye.

 

The lawmakers reached the decision on Wednesday after the resolution to uphold the recommendation of the committee on Ethics and Privileges chaired by Senator Samuel Anyanwu.

 

Ndume was subsequently suspended for six months, instead of one year originally recommended by the Ethics committee.
