Taylor Swift Expected To Break Records With 1989 As She Sells 600k Copies In 24 Hours!
It was revealed yesterday that Taylor Swift was predicted to shift a massive 900,000 copies of her brand new album 1989 in its first week, but it’s now been announced that the singer already managed to hit the half way mark in just 24 hours!
Taylor’s album was released on October 27 and has got rave reviews across the globe so far and it seems like the sales reflect this, as she managed to sell a whopping 600,000 copies by the end of release day. Craziness. This means that the singer is pretty sure to be celebrating three million-selling debut weeks at the weekend, with her 2012 album Red also managing to shift 1.21 million copies and her 2010 album Speak Now selling 1.05 million copies in the first week.
Originally, the singer was supposed to come just behind Justin Timberlake, who sold an impressive 968,000 with his comeback album The 20/20 Experience back in March 2013, in terms of the biggest sales weeks. But, it looks like she’s going to hit that one million mark once again.
One thing’s for sure, Taylor has definitely been putting her absolute all into promoting the album, with her appearing on pretty much every talk show and even holding secret listening and album parties in her home for fans. The singer managed to keep details of 1989 top secret right up until the release date, aside from the tracks that she debuted before the release – including Out Of The Woods and Style – both rumoured to be about ex beau Harry Styles
