A new study has revealed the most popular time of day most women prefer to get down and dirty.

According to a report by Dailystar, it turns out the majority of ladies agree that the evening is the hottest hour, according to a new survey by Sleepcupid.com.

Researchers quizzed 3,000 ladies from the US and UK about when they had the naughtiest thoughts. A whopping 78.7% admitted that they felt horny in the evening, followed by 42.3% who fantasied about getting frisky in the afternoon.

The least popular time for thinking about sex was lunchtime (8.2%) followed by the morning (32.9%).

Researchers said: “Survey respondents think about sex in the morning but by lunchtime thoughts turned to having something to eat.

“Results show that food comes before sex for most of us.

"Lunchtime was not popular for thinking about sex. No food, no energy right?

“The afternoon and evening are the most heightened times of day for women’s sexual thoughts.

"This is only natural with women preparing to finish work most days, going out in the evening or back home to partners.”

Meanwhile the study also revealed the ultimate locations that turn ladies on – and they may surprise you.

Bizarrely getting down and dirty on the stairs was the most popular answer, so perhaps you should pause there awhile before moving things onto the bedroom.

The survey also revealed that sex on the beach is a popular fantasy for lots of ladies, closely followed by getting jiggy at a big event like a wedding.

In fourth place was doing it on a plane meaning many would like to tick “joining the Mile High Club” off their bucket list.

Some girls dreamt about getting out into the great outdoors and romping in the garage or backyard and getting hot and steamy in the office also proved popular.
